I am a salon owner and have been for more than 10 years now. Originally I started in Las Vegas with a family tanning salon. 8 years ago, we sold the Vegas salon and moved our business to Los Angeles where I started the first Insatiable Sun. For the first 4 years of running this salon I relied completely on traditional print marketing and word of mouth to drive customers. I worked gym parking lots everyday and bars and clubs at night to network and hand out free tan cards. Of course it worked but it came at the price of exhaustion and fatigue. I am more persistent than the average business owner, failure was not an option. I’ll die first trying to give great service to new clients.
About 5 years ago I met Peter, who now runs Salon Marketing Pros. He convinced me that his Google marketing program would bring me new customers, help my salon grow, and save me a lot of trouble. To be honest, I didn’t believe him. At the time I thought my customers didn’t look for tanning salons online. Man was I wrong. Despite my skepticism, I gave it a shot. Peter believed in his product and I trusted him, so I figured why not. I gave it a shot.
I’ll never forget the first Google client that came into one of my salon locations. I was talking with friends when she walked in. As a general practice I always make sure to ask new clients how they found us. She said, “Google.” Simple as it sounded- I thought Eureka!!! Peter was right.
The influx of new customers has not stopped since then. In the past 5 years more than half of my new clients came in after finding out about us online. Today, the internet is responsible for most of our referrals.
These days we don’t have to comb parking lots for new customers. We just offer our great service when clients walk in the door. I have expanded to 5 locations since I first started working with Peter and Salon Marketing Pros. Now I dominate my local market for tanning salons and continue to grow while my competition goes out of business. This past year I consolidated 4 of my salons into 2 to reduce location overhead and purchased a 5th. The 5th Salon is Sunset Tan in Studio City which you may be familiar with from the TV show.
If you’re not my direct competitor, I encourage you to use Salon Marketing Pros. They are the real deal.”
